Boys lacrosse powers Winter Park and Lake Mary weren’t able to lock down a regular season game against each other this year — in part because of cautionary scheduling complications brought on by the COVID-19 outbreak.
But that maybe makes Friday’s state semifinal showdown between two of the premier programs in the sport even more of a marquee matchup. It marks the first time the Wildcats and Rams have faced off since Winter Park won a memorable 2018 regular season game by a 10-9 score.
