WINTER PARK — Visiting Hagerty got on the board first Friday night at No. 13 Winter Park, converting a field goal late in the first quarter.
The host Wildcats (2-1) scored 44 consecutive points from that point on, cruising to a 44-3 win and improving to 2-1 this season.
Hagerty (1-2) played its hosts tough for most of the first half. The Huskies trailed 12-3 late in the second quarter before an 89-yard touchdown pass from Jaden Machules to Walesa Charles with 12 seconds left in the first half gave Winter Park a momentum boost that it carried over into the second half.
