Winter Park walked into a hostile environment at Boone looking for a different result than it had last week. The Wildcats, ranked No. 14 in the Sentinel Super 16 high school football rankings, accomplished that goal in their 26-21 win, despite a courageous comeback from No. 9 Boone.
The Wildcats (2-1) shut the Braves down in the first half while executing big plays on offense that gave them a 20-0 lead going into the third quarter. Boone (1-1) roared back with big plays on offense and defense, including touchdowns by Georgia commit Jacorey Thomas on a 99-yard fumble return and a 53-reception on a pass by Casey St.
