It took two days, but Windermere High won the rain-soaked Class 3A, Region 2 boys golf tournament Royal St. Cloud Golf Links.
The Wolverines posted a 295 team total to win by 10 shots. Miami Columbus and Vero Beach tied for second at 305 to claim the other two automatic qualifying slots for the Oct. 30-31 state tournament at Mission Inn.
Lake Nona and Dr. Phillips tied for sixth at 309 and are left hoping that those efforts will be enough to secure at-large invitations to state.
Cypress Creek senior Kaleb Palm shot 3-under-par 69 to win the individual title and advance to state for the second year in a row.
