West Oaks twins sign Overtime Elite pro basketball deals

Twin towers Matt and Ryan Bewley, who landed in Orlando in 2020 to play their sophomore seasons of basketball at West Oaks Academy, have signed two-year contracts described as million dollar deals to join the new Overtime Elite professional league.

The 6-foot-9 prodigies are bypassing their junior and senior seasons — and college basketball eligibility —as the first American players in the sport to sign with a U.S. pro league before finishing high school.

“They are the pioneers for this league,” West Oaks coach Kenny Gillion said Monday. “They’re tremendous players. They’re competitive. They’re outgoing. When you see them on the court, even in games were they’re going up against future pros, they stand out.
