USTA hopes tennis safety guidelines help people feel comfortable getting back on court

As restrictions have been lifted, Kamperman traveled from his home in Lake Nona to visit his old neighborhood in South Carolina and made a trip to a local court.

Kamperman, the U.S. Tennis Association chief executive at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, wants others know tennis can be played safely during the coronavirus pandemic.

"With tennis, you're 78 feet away from the other person baseline-to-baseline," Kamperman said. "Even if you're playing doubles, unless you're a bad doubles team, you're not running into each other.

"By nature, tennis is one of those sports that allows you to be on a team and allows you to play as an individual.
