The coronavirus pandemic has put the sports world on hold. After Jazz center Rudy Gobert tested positive for the virus, the NBA on March 11 suspended its season, and the NHL, MLB and MLS followed suit the next day. College officials on March 12 canceled the NCAA men’s and women’s basketball tournaments and subsequently all sports for the remainder of the academic year.
The 43-year-old Laraque made the announcement on social media Thursday in a post showing him in a hospital gown.
