Unbeaten Jones, Seminole maintain top spots in Sentinel Super 16 football rankings

Seminole High extended its football regular-season unbeaten streak to 19 games Friday when it closed its schedule with a decisive 33-6 win at Orange City University.

The Seminoles (7-0), ranked No. 2 behind Jones (5-0) in the Sentinel Super 16, won their final three games in 2018 and went 9-0 in the 2019 regular season before losing to Apopka in a Class 8A region championship game.

“I’m really proud of the guys. They’ve worked hard all season,” said Seminole first-year coach Eric Lodge. “We’re undefeated on every level — freshman, [junior varsity] and varsity. It’s a good feeling when they come out and work hard and it pays off.
