During a year that has provided little to smile about, UCF coach Josh Heupel believes the chance for his players to compete in one last football game before heading home for the holidays was too good to pass up.
That’s why the Knights accepted an invitation to play in the Roofclaim.com Boca Raton Bowl Monday with kickoff set for Dec. 22 at FAU Stadium. The Knights’ opponent isn’t set yet, but it’s expected to be an ACC team.
“For our players, it’s been a long haul to get to this point and they’re excited about this opportunity and then get home for Christmas,” Heupel said.
