The UCF football team will play Georgia Tech despite coronavirus scheduling changes, but North Carolina has officially dropped off the Knights’ schedule.
The Yellow Jackets’ 2020 schedule was unveiled by the ACC Thursday morning and it included a matchup against the Knights on Sept. 19 in Atlanta.
The Tar Heels’ nonconference opponent was unveiled, but the game will be played on Sept. 19, confirming UCF and UNC didn’t strike an agreement to move the game from Orlando to Chapel Hill, N.C., so it could be played this season.
UCF athletics director Danny White hinted Wednesday the Georgia Tech game was likely to happen and the North Carolina game was questionable because the Knights felt strongly about keeping the game in Orlando as agreed to in the contract.
