Tua is starting, but Dolphins may have to get creative with run game vs. Bengals

The Miami Dolphins may have to get creative to run the football in Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

As for the run game, leading rusher Myles Gaskin will return to the lineup after month-long absence to potentially lead the Dolphins in carries if his knee holds up.

The Dolphins could also depend on second-year backup Patrick Laird, fullback Chandler Cox or receiver Lynn Bowden Jr. to lineup for direct running back snaps in the Wildcat formation.

The Dolphins’ running back depth took a hit this week as rookie Salvon Ahmed is nursing a shoulder injury, veteran DeAndre Washington sustained a hamstring injury last week, and Matt Breida landed on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Friday.
