It was a desperation heave at the hoop for sure, but Trinity Prep junior Javon Bennett said he actually practices shots like the halfcourt buzzer-beating game-winner he banked off the backboard on Thursday night.
Bennett, a junior guard, hit the unlikely 3-point shot as time expired to keep the Saints’ season alive with a 68-66 road win against Gainesville P.K. Yonge of Gainesville in a Class 3A Region 1 overtime thriller.
