Today in Central Florida sports history: Logan Allen tosses no-hitter for University in state semifinals

Logan Allen ended his stellar high school pitching career with a rare no-hit performance in the Florida High School Athletic Association state semifinals three years ago.

Named the Gatorade Florida player of the year earlier in the week, the Orange City University left-hander struck out 10 batters on June 2, 2017, en route to his only prep no-hitter during a 4-0 win against Miami Palmetto.

Allen allowed one base runner on a walk in the seventh and final inning at Hammond Stadium in Fort Myers. He helped himself to the victory when he hit a home run to left field on the first pitch he saw in the first inning.
