The last 20 minutes of The First Academy’s Class 3A region quarterfinal football game against Fort Pierce John Carroll were not for the faint of heart.
It was a roller coaster of emotions with a 20-point deficit being erased in less than a quarter, then being stolen from the Royals in the blink of an eye. John Carroll won 33-27 to advance to next week’s semifinal against Melbourne Holy Trinity.
The Rams (8-1) built their lead to 27-7 on a 15-yard touchdown run from Aidan Singleton with 7:10 left in the third quarter.
