Akindele’s eight finishes in the regular-season is a career-high, having totaled seven finishes in the regular season as a part of his 2014 MLS Rookie of the Year campaign. The Canadian forward also registered an assist in the match, earning a secondary assist on Carlos Ascues’s finish in stoppage time. His performance on Saturday earned him a spot on the MLS Team of the Week, the third TOTW he has received this season.
