Stetson football coach Roger Hughes stepping down to become president of Doane University

Hughes, who spent the past nine seasons with the Hatters, was named president of Doane University, his alma mater in Nebraska. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Doane in 1982 while playing two seasons for the football team.

“Roger Hughes has been a huge part of the Stetson community since 2011 and many point to his success in relaunching football for the Hatter Nation,” said school president Christopher Roellke. “His greatest contribution isn’t just a winning team, but his leadership and deep understanding of teaching and learning.”
