Sporting Kansas City added a defender with plenty of international experience Friday.
The club announced the loan signing of center back Winston Reid from English Premier League side West Ham United.
The 31-year-old has been at West Ham since 2010 and has 25 caps for New Zealand. He made three starts at the 2010 FIFA World Cup for the Kiwis.
Reid has made 222 appearances over his decade-long stint with West Ham. He joins a SKC defensive group that includes Matt Besler, Botond Barath, Amadou Dia, Andreu Fontas, Jaylin Lindsey, Luis Martins, Roberto Puncec, Graham Smith and Graham Zusi.
