Sindarius Thornwell gave Magic short-term roster help to close out season

The buzz: The 26-year-old Thornwell opened the season with the Pelicans, who waived him in February before bringing him back on a 10-day contract. Thornwell then found himself out of a job in late March when his second 10-day deal expired. Approximately six weeks later, he was in a Magic uniform as the team sought short-term roster help to close out the season. To clear a roster spot for Thornwell, the Magic released two-way guard Devin Cannady, who sustained a season-ending ankle injury on April 25.
