Rookie Jaelan Phillips feels at home with Dolphins, even through NFL position change

MIAMI GARDENS — He’s from the West Coast, but Miami Dolphins outside linebacker Jaelan Phillips already has the local reputation among his fellow rookies after his stellar 2020 college season with the Miami Hurricanes.

“They call me Mr. 305,” said Phillips following Thursday’s second practice of Dolphins training camp, as other newcomers already see him as an expert on where to go and what to do in Miami.

As Phillips makes the professional transition from UM after the Dolphins kept him in South Florida with the No. 18 pick of the draft, he now spends his training camp at the team’s new training facility with a view of Hard Rock Stadium.
