Real Salt Lake aims to build new Boys and Girls club, community plaza, futsal court

Real Salt Lake is aiming to develop land in Salt Lake City through its foundation.

According to a release from the club, Salt Lake City Mayor Jackie Biskupski will announce a new public-private proposal Thursday with the RSL Foundation and the Hansen Family Foundation at the Sugarhouse Boys and Girls club.

The proposal that Real Salt Lake will submit will include plans to develop the Sugarmount land by building a new Boys and Girls club and building a community plaza. The plaza will feature a futsal court to honor longtime RSL goalkeeper Nick Rimando.

Rimando played for Real Salt Lake from 2007 through 2019.
