Q&A with NWSL commissioner Jeff Plush

When the 2016 season kicks off this weekend, the National Women's Soccer League officially will be in its fourth year and the longest-running professional women's soccer league in the United States.

NWSL commissioner Jeff Plush answered questions Wednesday about the league's upcoming season, future goals and how it will avoid the fate of former leagues Women's Professional Soccer and Women's United Soccer Associations, which both folded after three seasons.

The Orlando Pride, the league's newest expansion team, plays its season opener in Portland at 10 Sunday night.

Question: What are your thoughts heading into this historic fourth season?
