The Philadelphia Union’s search for a fourth center back is over.

On Friday, the Eastern Conference side announced it signed center back Jakob Glesnes from Stromsgodset in Norway. The club paid an undisclosed transfer fee for the defender.

The 25-year-old was signed used targeted allocation money and is on a two-year contract with options for a third and fourth season.

“To become a captain of a club at 25-years-old is a remarkable feat for a young player and what attracted us to Jakob in addition to his strong aerial presence and front-foot defense,” said Ernst Tanner, Philadelphia Union Sporting Director.
