Exploria Stadium was selected as one of nine venues to host the Concacaf Gold Cup this summer, bringing the top international soccer competition on the continent to Orlando.
The tournament will begin July 2 with preliminary matches for the final three spots in the tournament, and the group stage is set to begin July 10.
Orlando City stars Chris Mueller, Benji Michel, Andrés Perea and Daryl Dike could be called up to the United States men’s national team to compete in the tournament between national teams from North America, Central America and the Caribbean.
These matches will be added to an already packed slate of international matches at Exploria Stadium this summer, including the Canadian World Cup qualifiers
“We are, yet again, honored to be able to host another one of the world’s most prestigious tournaments at Exploria Stadium and to again feature some of the best in the game in Downtown Orlando,” Orlando City CEO Alex Leitão said.
