Orlando Pride defender Cami Levin undergoes emergency appendectomy

Orlando Pride defender Cami Levin had an emergency appendectomy Wednesday morning at Orlando Regional Medical Center.

Levin, 26, will miss about four weeks as she recovers, and has been placed on the league’s 45-day disables list.

The California native made her first appearance for the Pride in Sunday’s 2-0 win over Seattle Reign FC. She subbed on in the 64th minute for Canadian national team member Josée Bélanger at right back.

Dr. Daryl Osbahr, the team’s medical director and chief of sports medicine at Orlando Health, said Levin is doing well and he will continue to monitor her progress.
