Orlando City striker Pato undergoes knee surgery, out 3-6 weeks

Orlando City striker Pato underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee on Tuesday after suffering an injury in the Lions’ home opener on April 17.

The club said the surgery was successful. Pato is expected to undergo a three- to six-week recovery process before returning to competition with his teammates.

Pato’s debut in Orlando was promising at first — he started the home opener against the long-time rival Atlanta United and came inches from scoring a pair of second-half goals.

But that introduction was cut short when an awkward landing in the 80th minute resulted in Pato’s right knee buckling under his body.
