ORLANDO, Fla. (Dec. 9, 2020) - Orlando City SC defender João Moutinho underwent successful surgery on Tuesday to treat a hip injury, the Club announced today. The surgery was performed in California with supervision from Dr. Craig Mintzer, the team’s Chief Medical Officer and an orthopedic surgeon at Orlando Health, the official medical partner of Orlando City SC.
Prior to the injury that ruled him out for the majority of the Lions’ historic 2020 campaign, Moutinho appeared in 12 matches for City across all competitions, with eight in the regular season and four in the MLS is Back Tournament.
