Three weeks into the preseason, Joe Bendik is fitting in well.
The veteran goalkeeper, who replaced Tally Hall, was a bright spot in an overall dismal performance during Orlando City’s 3-2 preseason win over the New York Red Bulls Wednesday morning.
And he already has built a rapport with second-year keeper Earl Edwards Jr. despite battling each other for the starting job — a competition Bendik is winning.
“Their competition and driving each other on is fantastic, so I’m really pleased with that,” Orlando City coach Adrian Heath said after a light training session Thursday.
