Jones head coach Elijah Williams held nothing back when asked about opening the high school football season on the road against a district rival.
“This is Bishop Moore’s best chance they will ever have at beating us,” Williams said during the weekend. “We just started practice [Aug. 24] and they’re a private school, so they’ve been practicing. I know they’ve been gearing up for us.”
That matchup is part of a busy slate of games Thursday and Friday as public schools in Orange, Seminole and Volusia counties join a schedule that’s only included private schools the past two weeks.
