Orlando area high school boys basketball season preview

When Orlando Christian Prep won its eighth state championship in a span of 13 seasons last March it set a Florida high school basketball standard no school is likely to challenge.

The Warriors, who won all seven of their Class 2A state playoff games by 11 points or more last season, brought back their two best players plus more. They are heavy favorites to make it nine titles in 14 years.

OCP went 29-2 last season and carries a 20-game winning streak into its season opener Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at home vs. Oviedo.

The Warriors won’t be the only area team in the running for a Florida High School Athletic Association championship.
