On Frame: Sky Blue FC general manager Alyse LaHue ecstatic after NWSL draft

From Podcast Row at the United Soccer Coaches convention in Baltimore, Pro Soccer USA’s Glenn Crooks spoke with Sky Blue FC general manager Alyse LaHue after her club’s blockbuster trade for United States forward Mallory Pugh during the National Women’s Soccer League draft.

“She certainly has been a target for us. We had reached out to the Spirit months ago.,” LaHue said. “We want to be an exciting club that scores goals and entertains the fans. She’s still only 21 years old, and in her we saw the opportunity for a phenomenal tandem with Carli [Lloyd].”

NWSL players association executive director Yael Averbuch also stopped by, along with MLS Referee of the Year Allen Chapman and Beau Dure, author of “Why the U.
