Olympia came from behind to beat Metro Conference rival Wekiva 35-26 on opening night of the 2021 Florida high school football season.
The Titans trailed by 12 points early but refused to give up and posted its win vs. Wekiva since 2016. Olympia put together a string of momentum changing plays and scored 28 consecutive points to offset a four-touchdown performance by Wekiva senior wide receiver Christopher Reed.
“It was a hard-fought game,” Olympia head coach Travis Gabriel said. “Coach [Jeremiah Rodriguez] Schwartz (of Wekiva), he’s got those kids believing. Those kids fought hard all four quarters.
