No. 1 ranked Oak Ridge plays No. 2 Dr. Phillips in an all Orlando Class 7A semifinal on Friday as part of the 2021 Florida High School Athletic Association boys basketball state tournament in Lakeland.
Buzz: This showdown has been percolating since 7A No. 1 Oak Ridge topped the second-ranked Panthers 49-47 on Jan. 15. DP lost to West Orange 48-47 four days later but is 10-0 since. Oak Ridge has played without its leader in points and assists, SMU signee Jalen Smith (21.8 ppg), since he was hurt in the DP game. Still, the Pioneers are only couple of plays away from being 25-0.
