NWSL working through player concerns about resuming games in Utah

The Orlando Pride are expected to join eight other NWSL teams in Utah for a tournament that league owners expect to kick off at some point in June. The tournament was first reported by the Washington Post’s Steven Goff, with the Salt Lake Tribune, The Athletic and The Equalizer later providing more details about NWSL’s evolving plans.

Players have questions about coronavirus safety measures, general player safety after at least two months away from competitive team workouts, why they must resume play mostly on artificial turf that can lead to injuries, isolation from families and compensation.
