The National Women’s Soccer League offseason is fully underway, with the league announcing Monday 19 players available on the re-entry wire.
The players on the re-entry wire did not have their options picked up by their teams at the end of the 2019 season and are now eligible to join other teams. Of that group of 19, nine come from the Washington Spirit. The team finished fifth in 2019, four points out of a playoff spot in head coach Richie Burke’s first season in charge. Five Australian internationals also made the list, including the Spirit’s trio that went to the World Cup last summer.
