NC Courage draft pick Ally Watt signs with Australia’s Melbourne City

The 2020 National Women’s Soccer League season doesn’t kick off until April 18, but one player recently drafted into the league won’t wait until then to start her professional career.

Melbourne City FC of Australia’s W-League announced Thursday it had signed North Carolina Courage draft pick Ally Watt for the remainder of the season. Watt was drafted sixth overall by the defending NWSL champs out of Texas A&M just a few weeks ago in Baltimore, Maryland.

Watt, 22, has already began training with Melbourne. She has not yet signed a contract with the Courage.
