MLS, NWSL players advocate for change on anniversary of George Floyd’s murder

One year after George Floyd was murdered by Minneapolis police officers, MLS players in the Black Players for Change organization are joining with the National Basketball Players Association in support of the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act.

The NBPA has been using social media to raise awareness for the legislation, coordinating live sessions on Instagram with senators to share information and support on the bill. The Black Players for Change will join this awareness movement on Tuesday, the anniversary of Floyd’s death.

The George Floyd Policing Act — formally labeled HR 7120 — was created in the wake of Floyd’s death last year.
