ST. PAUL, Minn. — Six of Sunday’s projected eight inches of snow had fallen when Minnesota United FC introduced Paraguyan forward Luis Amarilla to the media.
The 24-year-old’s move to Minnesota — a loan with an option to purchase — was completed late last month, and after linking up with the Loons in Florida as part of the team’s preseason training, Amarilla made his first appearance in Minnesota on Sunday.
Amarilla, via translator, said he found both the snow and the Twin Cities to be very pretty, having encountered both for the first time.
