Miami Hurricanes shoot up to No. 8 in both polls after demolition of FSU

The Miami Hurricanes shot up to No. 8 in college football’s latest AP and Coaches polls on Sunday after Saturday night’s 52-10 mauling of rival Florida State.

Miami (3-0, 2-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) is ranked in the top ten for the first time since opening the 2018 season at No. 8 after its 10-win 2017 campaign.

UM was No. 12 in the AP Poll the past week after its 47-34 win at Louisville. Heading into that matchup with the then-No. 18 Cardinals, the Hurricanes were ranked No. 17 following their season-opening win against UAB. They started the season unranked but receiving votes.
