The Miami Hurricanes received their first commitment from an offensive lineman for their 2022 recruiting class on Wednesday — and it came from a player who’s yet to play high school football.
Carswell is the Hurricanes’ fifth commit for their 2022 class, joining four-star quarterback Jacurri Brown, four-star athlete Chris Graves, three-star wide receiver Landon Ibieta and four-star cornerback Khamauri Rogers.
Despite shifting his focus from basketball to football earlier this year, Carswell already had offers from Ole Miss, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Oregon and North Carolina State.
Carswell officially visited Miami in mid-June, which is his lone official visit of his recruitment.
