You may be losing Texas and Oklahoma, but someday in the not-too-distant future, you’ll have a new marquee national program to hitch your wagon to; and that program will be UCF. In fact, when UCF accepts an invitation to the Big 12 — perhaps as soon as this coming week — the Knights immediately become the conference’s most exciting and appealing national brand.
Whether you love the Knights or hate them — and many across the country hate them because of the brilliant marketing ploy by former AD Danny White after the 2017 season in which he self-proclaimed undefeated UCF as the “real national champions” — college football fans at least recognize the UCF brand.
