The NBA has is advising teams it is targeting May 8 as the date teams can begin reopening facilities for voluntary individual workouts, but it’s not quite that simple.
The league is monitoring local and state government stay-at-home orders and business restrictions established to help slow the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
Unless the state of Florida and Orange County loosen restrictions, the Orlando Magic would not be among the teams clear to open practice facilities.
“Our foremost priority remains everyone’s health and well-being and we will continue to follow the NBA’s guidelines, while also continuing to listen to public health experts and observe local governmental directives,” Magic chief communications officer Joel Glass said.
