When we last left off with the Orlando Magic, they were surging and ready to make a run in the NBA Eastern Conference playoff race. With 17 games left in the regular season, they were starting to gel.
That all came to a crashing halt. The NBA suspended play and practices in March and the remainder of the 2019-20 NBA season was left in limbo.
The uncertainty will end July 30 with the beginning of a revamped NBA schedule at ESPN Wide World of Sports at Walt Disney World. The Magic, one of 22 teams invited to participate in an eight-game slate to finish the regular season, start play July 31 against the Brooklyn Nets, who sit half a game ahead of them in the Eastern Conference standings.
