The Orlando Magic got a little taste of the NBA’s play-in tournament format last year when the league made it part of the season restart at Disney.
The league tweaked the play-in format this season by bringing more teams into the postseason picture in trying to generate more excitement for the end of the season.
Now only the top six teams in each conference are guaranteed a playoff spot, with teams finishing 7 through 10 qualifying for a play-in tournament that will determine the final two playoff squads.
The tournament has drawn its share of critics, from Mavericks owner Mark Cuban to Lakers All-Star LeBron James.
