Louisville drafts Orlando Pride’s Alanna Kennedy, Caitlin Foord

Louisville selected Kennedy with the sixth overall pick. The expansion team also selected the rights to Caitlin Foord from Orlando with the ninth overall pick.

The Pride acquired Kennedy in a trade ahead of the 2017 season, and she helped the team to its first postseason run the same year. She saw limited playing time in 2019 because she was competing for Australia during the FIFA World Cup.

Kennedy didn’t play for the Pride during the 2020 season. She was one of two international players — along with midfielder Jade Moore — who did not return to Orlando ahead of the NWSL Challenge Cup.
