Legendary Hurricanes LB Dan Morgan named to College Football Hall of Fame

Former Miami Hurricanes linebacker Dan Morgan will now forever have his name etched among college football’s all-time greats as he was named to the 2021 College Football Hall of Fame class on Monday.

Morgan was one of the 13 selected by the National Football Foundation, a list that included USC QB Carson Palmer, Kansas State RB Darren Sproles, Clemson RB C.J. Spiller, Eastern Illinois QB Tony Romo and Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops .

Morgan holds Miami’s career tackles record with 532. He was the 2000 Big East Defensive Player of the Year, when he became the first player in college football history to sweep three major defensive awards (Butkus Award, Bednarik Award and Nagurski Trophy).
