Lake Mary baseball senior Keagan Perez was watched closely by family and friends while turning in the most outstanding varsity performance of his career Tuesday night at Sanford Memorial Stadium.
With his mom and grandpa in the grandstands and his dad and younger brother watching from the dugout, Perez pitched a no-hitter to help the underdog Rams (14-11) win 6-0 vs. top-seeded Orange City University (19-5) in a Class 7A District 2 semifinal.
“He was the first one to give me a hug after everyone was done dog-piling me,” Keagan said with a laugh. “He was saying that he was really proud of me and how much I deserved it, and how I’ve worked so hard to get here.
