It’s that queasy feeling we get when there’s a sense something’s about to go wrong with the unit’s protection.

It might not occur on the next play. Or the next series. Or in that half, but deep down you know it’s only a matter of time before there’s a free rusher sprinting toward your quarterback, and the outcome won’t be pretty.

During Thomas’ tragic 37 game run as a Dolphins starter from 2013-16, that was a weekly occurrence that sunk those units until Adam Gase cut Thomas and two others following a bad performance early in 2016 season.
