Soccer legend Kaká announced he will not renew his contract with Orlando City Wednesday.
He said his announcement was “just for that,” leaving open the possibility of playing one more year in his native Brazil.
The Lions’ captain and one of the most famous athletes in the world will conclude his tenure in MLS when the season ends Oct. 22. He will play his final home MLS match when the Lions host the Columbus Crew at 5 p.m. Sunday. The captain also pledged to play in a friendly with Puerto Rico to benefit hurricane victims after the regular season concludes.
