Reign FC made two player announcements Monday, sharing that standout star Jess Fishlock signed a new contract with the club and longtime midfielder Beverly Yanez will retire after a 10-year career.
Fishlock’s contract will keep her with the Reign for the 2020 and 2021 seasons. The Wales native has been with the Reign since the National Women’s Soccer League’s inaugural season, and has been a regular contributor since.
She enjoyed a strong start to the season in 2019, scoring three goals and picking up one assist in five matches, before tearing her ACL, but is expected to be fit for the 2020 season.
