Jaelan Phillips, Greg Rousseau lead five Hurricanes ready for NFL draft

That is likely to change on Thursday night as defensive ends Jaelan Phillips and Gregory Rousseau lead a group of five UM football alumni ready to get their names called and find out their NFL destinations.

Phillips and Rousseau have a chance to become the first Hurricanes to get picked in the first round since tight end David Njoku went to the Cleveland Browns at pick No. 29 in 2017. After the two pass rushers, who are essentially unanimously regarded as two of the draft’s top three defensive ends with Michigan’s Kwity Paye, Miami has tight end Brevin Jordan, edge defender Quincy Roche and kicker Jose Borregales expected to get selected in the draft’s seven rounds from Thursday to Saturday.
